2007-08: His first season as an exempt bowler was a success as he made one championship round appearance and regained his exemption by finishing 29th in the 2007-08 PBA World Point Rankings… Finished second to Rhino Page in the 2007-08 PBA Rookie of the Year voting… Made 11 match play appearances and cashed in 18 of 19 events… Made the championship round in the fourth event of the season, finishing fourth in the Lake County Indiana Classic in Merrillville, Ind…. Fell to eventual champion Michael Haugen Jr., 194-192, in the semifinals… Made match play in three of the next four events to close out the first half of the season 28th in points… Got off to a slow start in the second half, missing match play in four of the first five events to fall to 39th… Made a big late-season push to avoid going back to Tour Trials, making match play in five of the final six events including two top-10 finishes… Finished 10th in the 2008 Denny’s World Championship, his best Major finish of the season… Advanced to the Round of 8 in the following week’s Don Johnson Buckeye State Classic to all but clinch his exemption; finished eighth after falling to Chris Barnes in the Round of 8… Finished the season strong by making match play in the 65th Denny’s U.S. Open, finishing 20th.
