Chris Klerk is a proud member of the Columbia 300 Amateur Staff. In his countless years of competing on the lanes Chris has proved himself from the Youth ranks, through his collegiate years, and is now excelling in the Adult Amateur ranks all over the country. Over the years he has shot over twenty 300 games, along with five 800 series.

While beginning to bowl as a youngster, Chris didn’t start to get serious about the game until Middle School. Through many years of practicing and competing he earned one of the most special opportunities you can ask for in sports. Back in 2002 Chris had the opportunity to wear the Red, White and Blue as a member of Jr. Team USA. Chris endured the difficult task of bowling his way onto the team at Junior Olympic Gold late in 2001 (finishing 3rd). The honor of representing the United States in the FIQ World Youth Championships in Pattaya, Thailand in 2002 by far made it worth every hour he’d ever spent on the lanes. To top this whole experience off Chris teamed with Matt Gilman to win the Silver Medal in Men’s Doubles. “Not only was it amazing to represent the United States in an international competition, but to be able to stand on the podium after earning a Silver Medal at the World Championships was definitely one of the biggest highlights of my career,” stated Klerk.

Upon moving to the Tempe area and attending Arizona State University, Chris joined the Men’s Bowling Team, where he was a 3-time Academic All American. Towards the end of his college career Chris began competing in many large stage amateur events all over the United States. In his career Chris has won 1 Megabuck Title (2005 TAT), along with 2 Megabuck Sweeper Titles. In addition, while competing in limited Regional PBA Tournaments Chris has a 2nd and a 3rd place finish, along with finishing 49th in the 2008 US Open on the National Tour.

When he’s off the lanes you’ll find Chris cheering on his San Diego Padres and San Diego Chargers at every chance he gets!
